I have a nephew (and soon-to-be niece) finishing grad school at
Columbia. They will soon be moving to the Bay Area and want a westy to
travel and haul gear in (filmmaking).

Question is: if they buy anything but a California-legal vanagon, will
they be able to bring it to CA and register it?
