Chris: Are you suggesting that I get these STEEL wheels machined out in the center? I realize one can machine steel, and since they are not hub centered on the Vanagon, the job doesn't even need to be particularly accurate. It occurs to me that the ideal way to bore these might be to use a motorcycle boring bar setup. It occurred to me just after I missed getting such a machine at a local scrap metal yard. Duh! It was a Lempco brand, I think. At the time, I wasn't sure what it was, thought it was a drum lathe. Al Brase
