Most of my time at work is spent on a rescue medic (emergency squad or amboolance to some in the Southern US). On major wrecks if we have time we take out a two gallon jug of cat litter and broadcast it around to improve traction and absorb fluids of ALL types. It allows the incoming truckies (fellow firefighters in an engine company) to cleanup after us easier and we and the cops avoid slips and falls in the meantime. Our chiefs didn't like the price of the commercial absorbent and I can't see any performance difference in the cheaper kitty litter. -- Stephen FF, EMT-P, BS, MBA, 3º MM. ex Lt.
