Subject:      Could hot starting problems be caused by a defective ignition
              swich?

I have been trying to solve the problem where my 84 Vanagon doesn't want to start after several stops.  I assumed that this was a hot start problem, and have replaced most everything that might cause the problem, coil, temp sender, fuel pressure regulator, air box, idle stabilizer.  The engine has always started after it has had time to cool off.


The engine runs great when it is running.  No problems at all.


Recently I have noticed that when I release the key while attempting to start (starter turning over), the motor suddenly starts.  Could I have an ignition switch that is intermittent, and that is what is keeping the engine from starting when hot?  How can I check to see if this is the cause?
