If the engine is not overheating, then bleeding the system will not improve heat. Is the engine warming up properly? If not, you probably have a thermostat problem. If it is, is the heater vale opening fully? Do you open the air vents fully and then turn the fan on high speed? If so, that is a no-no. All the air from the front is outside air. Note the # 2 on the blower switch plate that also shows where to put the levers for max defrosts. Max heating set fan on #2. If still poor heat, you most likely need to change or at least clean the heater core. The cores get clogged with road dirt on the outside and coolant goo on the inside. Both need to e addressed.

Hi All,

My heat is really poor in my 1986 2.1L syncro. I'd like to bleed the coolant can anyone point me to a good description of how to?

Thanks, Chris
