>I'd heard that some late model Euro Vanagons came with ABS (Anti lock >brakes). Can anyone confirm this?

ABS (3-channel) was indeed available on nonUS (not just Euro) T3s. I was offered a Syncro with ABS. It was a British-market round-headlight model. So it was not a late-80s model.

>Ah, Chris, yes I believe there was. The '92 Vanagon, Europe only, was >available with ABS. Check your Euro ETKA V 5.0

Available MUCH earlier than this.

>Its a tough call but I think I'd prefer my SA big brake kit to stock >brakes with ABS.

ABS does not increase brake power. It merely allows maximum braking effort without lockup ON PAVED SURFACES (it does NOT work properly in dirt and thereby drastically increases braking distances) anbd allows swerving under brakes. -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut
