Subject: Carbon Burn out Trick (nvc)

Hi all Im Trying to remember a little trick ive used in the past and im not sure if i have it right.

What i need to do is burn the carbon out of the heat riser on my 66 bugs stock intake manifold that is plugged. If my memory serves me ( lately not well ) you could take a O2 / Acet torch and get the carbon to burn. Once the carbon starts to burn you turn off the acetylene and the Oxygen burns off the carbon using the carbon as fuel. its been something like 15 years since the last time i pulled this stunt and im not sure if i forgot any thing? Of course make sure to wear safety gear and fire ext. near by but beyond the obvious. Thanks Jonce
