To drain the trans, loosen the collar nut with an adjustable crecent wrench. Actually loosen the nut completely and disconect the dip stick tube from the pan. Fluid will gush. The pan has 4 bolts. take em out and the pan comes off. The filter/screen is under the tin cover.Take the 3 phillips head screws off and the cover/filter comes down.REMEMBER the orientation of the screen inside the filter housing. Remove and replace filter in housing. Reattach with the 3 screws.Take note of the bolts on the bottom of the valve body. More bolts then there are stars in the heavens. Some of these (11) need to be removed to drop the valve body, but which ones? Upon closer inspection with your telescope, you can see 3 distinctly different types of heavenly bodys up there. Not the heavenly bodys I want to see, but necessary anyway. The bolts with 10mm heads need to come out to remove the valve body.Count them up. There are 11. The rest stay put unless the valve body is to be dissembeled. Removal of these will split the VB,so dont take em out.

Put the new gasket on the pan as directed. BE CAREFUL not to pinch the gasket while reattaching it to the trans.Fluid will gush. Maybe use another hand(usually comes with another person) to hold the pan in place while you insert the 4 bolts.Tighten uniformely, and evenly. When the bolts are screwed in all the way, they will stop. At this point torque them with the amount of torque that was requirerd to remove them. Do this by remembering how much force u used to remove them(Thought I was gonna tell you to buy a torqrue wrench, right).Just remember this is aluminum, not iorn.Attach the collar nut and fill fill fill .Start the engine after filling about 3or 4 qts.shift and allow warm up and frequently check fluid level. Add till full mark is reached. If you over fill, loosen the collar nut and dran drain drain.Lets hope you need these instructions. Use them if the trans starts to shift ok.If it shifts ok, you will need about 3 gallons of fluid to rince twice.Buy the cheap stuff!
