The best way to understand the SA grill is to think of it as just like a late, square headlight type Vanagon grill with round lights instead of square. The SA grill is what they SHOULD have done in '86. The outer lights are standard round hi/lo combinations just like the 80-85 Vanagon.

Its never the case where the inner lights are not for hibeam usage..., is > it??

I'd say those inner H1 lights are DEFINITELY for hi-beam usage. I mean, sure, you could wire 'em up as something else, but they're really wicked spot lights so you'd either have to aim them WAY down or risk blinding folks like a jackass.

And the chome vw emblem is no longer available, but can you chrome these > plastic ones.., > > but really the chrome emblems were never really chrome were they?? just > shiny plastic went they??? >

Pretty sure it's been all "chromed plastic" for a long time, like since the T2 production ended. Not sure what you're asking...
