Sounds like ignition timing to me. Try an adjustment without a  timing
light. Loosen the 10mm distributor hold down nut and tap the dist in one
direction just a hair. See if you  get better off line acceleration.If it
gets worse try the other direction. Just remember where the starting point
was before moving the distributor.
