Yep! I want it for more that a summer trip to Alaska. When I go up, I
plan an extended tour - right into winter most likely. Might even stay
'til following spring.

Big thing is though, when I camp - and I do camp in my 88 GL - I want a
good heating system that functions independent of running the engine. I
lived in Alaska for 30 years - I know about the weather. There is some
good fishing on the Kenai River in October and early November  - after
the tourists are gone, the puddles have iced over, and  the first light
snows have fallen. Then you have the river to yourself and it is grand.
My son and I have caught 20 and 25 pound late run silver salmon on the
river at that time of the year. But it is nice to have some good heat
when one needs to warm up a bit. Thus the need for the independent heater.

Have not looked into the under-seat heaters. I will.
