If you van is aflicted with the dreaded VW bus "dance" while passing trucks or in crosswinds, try this: Adjust your review mirrors so you can see the back tire, let someone else drive or look, and make the van swerve back and forth on the road. If you watch the tires, you will see the sidewalls flexing 1-3 inches sideways and the bus "dances" back and forth sideways until it settles down. Stock Bogue shocks are not bad, and ride very nice. Since switching to more suitable tires, this "dance" is gone. Completely. I won't go into which tire as that would start another dreaded D.T.T. (Dreaded Tire Thread). Do the tires first. You might find the rest of the Vanagon suspension, especially a late model Carat or Wolfsburg, is quite nice.
