I've been receiving email that hasn't been deleted for more than a year I think.., so though I'll check the archives.., I have checked my own "archive"..,.

I'm a little surprise that the CQ is more of a winter only compared to the C2, I was assuming the reverse for some reason..,

As far as the high pitched whine..., I remember a paint shop telling me the can spray under the van this sound dampening stuff which also helps with protection.., and since we sit on the front wheel wells that would be a good place to try that stuff out.., high pitches are easier to cut than low pitches.., I'm assuming what you hear is from the front tires only and not the rear..., and a sound dampening material isn't a bad idea irregardless of tire..,

I like what you say about no problem in snow unstudded.., and running 80mph no problem.., I'm curious what you think of them on dry paved roads in summer.., and you know, those freeways in Seatle are visciously rugged..., (I don't live there, but plan to go up there again..), and I don't think it rains as much as it used to up there.., someone said the rubber was kind of soft, so I hope Seatle in dry weather wouldn't tear those tires up..,

And on making a winter tire into a year round tire.., you'd have to compromise in favor of summer.., and since narrower is better for wetter, and wider is better for dry paved roads.., I wonder if choosing 7 inch wide wheels in stead of 6 inch wide wheels isn't such a compromise???

Thanks for your reply Hans, it was very helpful.., so far the only real complaint I've heard is of noise on these tires.., and the only tires I'm really considering at this point are Nokian, and Vred's Comtrac..,

If you're running on ice and snow all the time on poor roads then you could get them studded. > The C2 is supposedly more of a 'year-round' tread compound, and the CQ is more of a winter-only compound.
