I asked the list a similar question in the summer regarding camping with my little guy. We'd done quite a bit of camping ever since he was 8 weeks old, but it was time for him to move to the upper bunk (~2 years old, but mom was 8 months prego and there was certainly not enough room for everyone -including the dog- downstairs). Dad and Sage slept upstairs and, per some list suggestions, I made a set of "Jail Bars" that fit snugly over the "hole" using 2x2 and 1/2" PVC piping. It actually worked great as a bed extender since Dad (at 6'3") hangs over the hole anyway. Sage thought it was a real treat to sleep upstairs, especially "just the boys". He slept awesome up there (although it is colder since Mom has the Propex downstairs). For the next few years the boys (Dad and Sage) will be sleeping upstairs staying warm, and the girls (Mom and Haven) and the dog will have the luxuriously warm downstairs. At some point the kiddies will either both sleep up, or will get to sleep in a tent and mom and dad will get to share the same room :) Some kiddie camping photos -- get ready for the fun!! http://philandsuzanne.com/babyalbum022.html http://philandsuzanne.com/babyalbum024.html Oh one more thing...make sure he/she helps you clean the van when you get back. Sage was almost as excited about that as he was sleeping upstairs. -Phil 89 Westy SLC, UT _____________________________________________________________________ This email message, including any attachments, may contain confidential and proprietary information for the sole use of the intended recipient.
