You sleep up top, and let mom and daughter "bond." Also, don't let your 2-year-old lean against back window screen and tumble out into the fire pit you parked over in the dark. If Mom is not along for the trip, have plenty of distractions for when the 2-year-old says 'Where's Mommy?'
