The Wal-Mart batteries are actually made by Johnson Controls. With few exceptions, any store brand battery is one of these. You just get to pay a lot more. I don't know who is making the Die Hard this year but my experience is that they tend to suffer the same quality failure fate as the Ever Start. Basically, an inter cell connector fails causing intermittent dead battery symptoms. Charge it and test it, it seems ok. Drive to store or on long trip and get stuck. Often a wrap with a hammer will make the connection and it will start again. Douglas is one of the better brands if you can find them. Thing I would go AC Delco (choke), Interstate or Exide. I usually buy, and have had good service from, Diehard International, but Sears is a 100 mile RT and I would wait 'till they are on sale. In the meantime, any opinions on EverStart batteries from WalMart? Thanks, Jerry |
