I think it would be too costly to paint the frames. You could do this yourself, or the aluminum should loose some of the shine over time. The photo was taken using a flash, so the glare is exaggerated.

As for the years the screens fit, I based this on parts listings from some of my German suppliers that show different part numbers for the sliding door window from 1985 on. As soon as I can find an early Westy to try our replacement on, I may be able to list the screens as fitting all years.

I have tried our non Westy screens on quite a few different years, from 1980 to 1990 and they fit all years.
