Subject: lifter cam Q, 1.9 to 2.1
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi all this past weekend i pulled apart 3 wbx motors 2-1.9L and 1-2.1L. so my questions are:

1) How can you check Lifters to be good or bad?? out of the motor!

2) is the cam the same from 1.9L to 2.1L. they have the same cam gear part number, so?

3) What is the Stroke and bore on a 1.9L vs. a 2.1L?

4) what if any internal differences in part interchangablity? if i have the 2.1 crank will it drop into the 1.9L case and vise versa? also are the Rods the same between the 2?

Like i said i pulled 3 motors apart. actually i pulled the 2 - 1.9L and sent the cases off to have cleaned and the 2.1L just came off the stand and the short block internally was perfect. did find a small coolant leak to the head and one to the case but beyond that the short block was super clean. the 1.9L were the same way also BTW just head and coolant issues is all and really no visible wear one the bearing surface except the cam bearings all showed wear.

Well the cases are off being cleaned the crank has had the rods hung and im about ready to put the cam and dist. drive gears on. but need info on checking lifters and such before short block assembly. Thanks Jonce
