My advice from direct experience: come up with so much for her to do that the problem will be getting her up in the morning, not getting her to bed at night. My granddaughter has always slept upstairs with her own LED lights, sacks of horses and jungle animals to keep her company. Pile up blankets as a barrier so she won't roll off. Make sure there's light on upstairs if she can tolerate it. If she wants to come downstairs, let her. On the way to the campground, let the conversation turn to how much you'd like to sleep up there, but that "special place" is for kids. DVDs on a laptop work pretty well too.
