Of course it's always imperative that one CALL and make sure the parts one is ordering are actually in stock. Their catalog is huge, but appears to have no relation to their actual physical inventory. Sad to say, I kinda have to agree with Rico: the sales folks at BD haven't exactly inspired confidence. Indeed, every problem I've had was eventually resolved to my complete satisfaction; it just seems like there maybe shouldn't have been that much trouble in the first place. Then again, I seem to have particularly bad luck with Vanagon vendors. Took 3 tries to get a right side lamp for the SA grill from one; another sat on my $750 for the SA brake kit for 6 weeks and a bunch of emails before admitting they were NLA and refunding my money; my rebuilt auto tranny came with a 087 Audi reverse ring gear hub instead of the proper 090 Vanagon one; and even GoWesty got me once: up-sold me to 16" rims from 15" because the day I was there all they had of 15's in stock was one set with three lefts and one right tire pre-mounted. I didn't want to wait for them to take the one rim out to have the tire flipped, so I paid $100 extra and didn't notice till I got home that they'd mounted a set of 16's likewise consisting of THREE LEFTS AND A RIGHT! (Shrug) If nothing else, owning a Vanagon has surely encouraged great patience.
