Vanagonites,

I have an '89 Westy and would like to install a second battery.

The relay is available under the driver's seat and I think it's wired and ready to have one dropped in and hooked up. I'd like opinions on any options or other considerations to make when putting another battery in.

I have had the following recommendations so far:

i- add a switch that allows one or both batteries to be connected at on time; this also allows one battery to be used as a starter and the other as an auxiliary

ii- put in a voltage regulator; I have also been told this is not necessary

iii - run two of the same batteries; this helps with to balance the charging characteristics

Other ideas to research?

Thx

Chris
