The winner is Brian from Salem with the right answer!


  I didn't have the grinding noise today, but due my canyon trip tomorrow, I jammed and went back to my mechanic.  He confirmed that the sound was caused by rust forming when my van sat outside during the month it was being fixed, and it was becoming dislodged when I heard the awful noises, but now it should be all gone and everything back to normal!


  It's amazing how bad the noise was....I had visions of metal grinding metal.....


  Thanks so much for second guessing for me everyone!!!!!
