So far I have five possiblities. 1) Fuel filter (that has been changed - the old one was cruddy - but it didn't change anything) 2)Vanagon Syndrome? - many say not. However my problem matches this part of the VW description of Vanagon Syndrome ".vehicle experiences lack of power, cuts-out or stalls, often accompanied by bucking or jerking of the vehicle. In ALL cases, the vehicle will restart immediately." But my engine does not wait 30 minutes or more. It starts this moneky business within a mile or so. 3) Temp II Sensor. 4) O2 Sensor ( have a new one one week old - was running fine) 5) Loose connection someplace - probably at Temp II sensor Have new Temp II coming as a spare for a long upcoming trip. Have the tantalum capacitor just in case. I have to check the Temp II terminals, and wiring for looseness. I have to check the new O2 sensor even though new. Things fail - even new things.
