Extra voltage "capacity" on the capacitor is OK, so long as the farad rating is the same.

Whether that'll solve your problem, I dunno. Sounds almost like an O2 sensor or maybe even temp2 sensor issue to me. Have you tried unplugging the O2 sensor lead to see what that does?
