Yes, that one was done the easy way. I have done some like that. You don't get a permanent upper bed but you can have a removable one that you put up there when the top is raised. The main benefit is standing room and a place to put your stuff out of the way when you are camped. You also get great ventilation when camped in warm weather. I did my 87 Syncro this way 12 years ago.
