Subject: Engine Conversion? ~ Tiico

I wouldn't do one. I was part of an install team for a local friend and the kit was rough (missing many fasteners and poor quality brackets ~ thank God for NAPA on a Sunday). We had to replace the accessory bracket with VW Golf MkII pulleys because the system Tiico had shook itself to pieces. Further, you have to use the A2 (MkII) fuel rail due to the extremely poor quality item that comes with the kit.

You will also need to have or have access to the VAG tuning software and OBDII connector to make final adjustments when it is installed.

Lastly, I got a call from the owner of this kit two days as she managed to get it off the freeway and stopped with a suspected broken rod. The kit has been running mostly trouble free for three years now until this. She has it in the shop and I expect things to be pretty ugly.

I personally lean way more to the Subie side of things for gas and the good ol' TD side for running on oil.

Regards, Brian
