wow i did make it home tonight without a massive attack on my engine. i did notice some things after taking it apart, did a fix before driving home and it held.. :))

1. whats with the bottom of the h-pipe? can this fail? seems like some kind of cap at the end. Yes the bottom of this pipe is a glued in or otherwise bonded plug. 2. I also might have a queefed hose on the h-pipe. BUT checked the hose connection before removing seems not.

3. The overflow tank had some gunk at the bottom? i will clean out before putting back together. If the tank is dirty and turning yellow, replace it. The tanks do flail, especially at the seam. Failure is usually sudden and without warning. Any sudden loss of coolant at speed results in some engine trauma. 4. Its 8:35 and i hammered 4beers. ahh

5.ohh whats the fill sensor ohm reading on tank how can you tell if bad? bus is parked and ready for parts. when i did open the front bleeder it sounded of air.. so i will bleed again The fill sensor is nothing more than two probes stuck into the coolant. The failure mode is leakage. It is cheap enough. If replacing the tank, replace the probe.

6. What a mess this make when you have a small drip..

7. Can I replace the stock hose clamps with more modern types screw clamps. The screw clamps are actually outdated. You really want the spring clamps. Get the tool. Screw clamps do not expand/contract with temperature. They have to be over tightened to really work and hose life is shortened. I also use permatex aviation gasket sealant on the hose connections. Makes a good seal and prevents corrosion on the engine parts where the hoses attach. Thanks Much,
