Maine is also a "Non-Title" state for vehicles over 15 years old.

It's no problem to register them in other states after. New Jersey, for example, would see that there was no title issued by Maine and just use a copy of the registration and a "Bill of sale" to issue a NJ title. Somehow, though, I suspect the seller of this van hasn't properly registered it in NH.

Years ago, Maine was a non-title state "PERIOD". I purchased a new car while in the shipyard at Kittery, registered it in Maine (no title), and later shipped it to Hawaii where a title was issued.
