>>John: Simply unhook the single wire connector at the end of the O2 sensor harness and it will run on the open loop (non feedback) setting. You don't need to disconnect the 2 wire connector (it's the heater for the O2 sensor). You don't even need to open the engine lid. the connector is right near that big black water tube that goes from the pump to the thermostat housing. I think you could run with the sensor discocnnected forever, it would be just like the Euro spec system. It's nice to know this so that if it ever fails, disconnecting the O2 sensor is a simple, immediate fix. Like on the road to Alaska? I bet internet access is a little spotty on that trip. Precious little Wifi?>>

Al,

I went out and drove the van, got it warm, engine acted up, stopped, disconnected the O2 single wire connector as you suggested....... started it up again .......No more problem!

Ok, that isolates it to to the O2 circuit, next is to isolate the specific problem. There are two possibilities in this case. Either a bad connection where the wires were spliced when the new unit was installed, or the new unit itself is bad. Simple to check those out.

Thanks for the tip on this. I have been frustrated to death on what the trouble was. Now it's an easy fix I think.
