jeff, youre behind on your list emails!! shame on you!! :<) we talked about this a few days ago..its a LT-28.

i actually like it. JonR on the list here used to have one too..

I've been drunk since Christmas eve and I'm just now beginning to sober up. Even at that, I'm sober enough to know it's time for you to mount your outside rear view mirrors correctly. C'mon! ;)

Ah, the LT-28, of course. I actually saw one up in Yellowstone National Park, WY a few years back, but it was a newer model than that 76. (I just passed it on the road, so didn't get a look inside.)

Somehow I didn't know the LT 28 was made as far back as 76. I have brochure for a Westfalia "Sven Hedin" camper based on the LT-28. I'm guessing the brochure is from the late 80s. The brochure is in German, but the pictures are in English. The one in the brochure is particularly sweet. Obviously bulkier than the Vanagon, but still more managable than say a C-Class camper. And it kind of looks like a swollen Vanagon so the transistion wouldn't be so bad if they were available in the USA.

The extra room in the LT 28 seems like a plus. It seems the LT 28 still gives you a managable size yet the extra room. Although I suppose these days with the Sprinter-based campers you can get about the same space and managability that a LT 28 camper would offer. I mean I'm sticking with the Vanangon Westfalia, but it's nice to think about an LT 28.

Anyway, thanks for clearing it up and bringing me up to date. I guess I've been behind on my list mail.

Best, Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA
