My gut feeling say this is another illegally imported to the USA DoKa I am afraid. The VIN shows that is it is a North American spec vehicle, but there are no rear side reflectors that all North American Vanagons / Transporters had to have. The front markers have that notch in them, showing they are European. The 112hp engine was sold in... guess where... Europe. The passenger door opening has holes where the original VIN was attached. Round headlights were never sold on a post 1985 North American vehicle. It is also a post 1985 grille due to the large VW logo on it. Nice looking European tow hitch and plug. Rear plate holes are Euro plate spacing. Switch for the adjustable headlights - again Europe only. No vacuum sticker on the engine bay black box.

Yup too many weird things about it...

Ok this is sweet. A light Blue 1990 3-door Syncro crew cab in Colorado. There's not much text in the ad, but it seems there's a transmission problem.

Have a look.

Something seems odd on the dashboard in the pic that show the view through the driver's side door. No pad at all on the dash? Is that normal or is something missing? Also there are so full on side views of the vehicle in the pictures. And of course I'm always suspect of a bus with the outside mirriors on the wrong sides.

But check it out, what do I know?

Best, Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA
