I can attest to the fact that Ron is very good at answering his e-mails. I've not been complaining, but rather trying to nail down the exact part that I want. And he's bent over backwards to help me. Another thing Ron didn't mention. (Maybe I have a wider base of experience than he does on this.) VW's parts books are not and were not, very good. Not quite as bad as old GM parts books from the 1970's and earlier, but far far from perfect. Some little parts are either not in there or buried in hardware sections or service sets sections. And descriptions are not well translated either." Channel" and "plate" are nouns that are pretty vague. I'm pretty sure the original German was some wonder compound word that described it to a tee, but VW of A. saved us from all that. If you've ever seen an old Mercedes parts book, it would blow you away! it showed every screw and every washer, or at least the count of them, which order the washers went on the screws, and the description of each part in 5 or so languages. But you need to have a boat -anchor Mercedes for it to have any relevance! So, my point is, VW parts is a tough job. Give your list vendor some consideration, use email, work out your problems off list. Or get a Mercedes or Ford instead. Chris: Which Quickie Mart?
