Compression tests are really only useful when you have a major failure. There are two many variables for them be any more useful than cylinder to cylinder comparisons. A leak down test is the only way to evaluate an engine. See the archives. It is common for the two front cylinder to have lower compression readings that the rear and yet have good leak down results. Worn cam lobes are the problem. If the rings and valves are sealing, then keep it running. Dennis
