I doubt that it makes much difference as long as the center conductor is stranded. Almost half the O2 wire run on a vanagon is unshielded anyway. The frequency of the signal is in the 1 hertz range. People often hook up 15 feet of unshielded cable to connect a monitor or O2 led display on Vanagons. List member Ken Lewis makes and sells one that mounts in the unused switch hole in the instrument cluster.
