What about pusher motor homes? Motor homes get only a few seat belts. Mine can sleep 7 on beds but it only has 4 seat belts. There are no air bags or other passive restraints. Heck, not even a front bumper. And it is 2004.

When it comes to the VW Bus, they have always pushed the limits to wait as long as possible when it comes to safety. An example is the "J" bead safety wheel. The beetles got them in '68. The busses didn't get them until '71. Manufacturers do not make products any safer than they have to unless there is a marketing benefit. That is where lawyers and plaintiffs get their opportunities.

Good read, a bit "legal" and difficult to translate into English but quite interesting.

Making a case that the VW was negligent by putting the engine in the back, to me is like saying Harley is negligent for not protecting you on a motorcycle or the Mini is negligent for being small.

Goes to show lawyers well make a case against anybody at anytime, about anything so long as it makes CASH.

Their claim that VW changed the design to front engine Eurovan because they "knew" the rear engine was unsafe displays this in spades. What about the 911, or Boxster, or any other mid engine sports car like the Ferr, or Lamb, Maz all with mid engine, hey thats unsafe and they should be sued for it.

What about "pusher" motorhomes? Greyhound busses.
