That big black plastic thing ont he backof the alt. is the voltage regulator.I you are measuring at the alt, and getting only 13.5 maybe its the regulator. A new alt is cheap ,but the regulator is replaceable(never done this).A low voltage can be a altenator diode gone south,but I think you have too much voltage for this to be the problem.I would go with the regulator(auto zone maybe , or BD if you need it cheap cheap).I think there is a test for the regulator , but I dont know how it works!Good byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
