greetings listees! mike williams, here...you might remember me from such posts as 'a boy and his van' and 'high and dry in no mans land'...i've been on and off this list for five years now, i was a regular when i was 19 years old and living in my vanagon (84 westy) in the phoenix area of arizona. i'm now on my 2nd 84 Westfalia and i'm restoring the girl from tires up (one piece at a time)...i should also mention i'm not actually 'restoring' her...more of a 'make her mine' kind of rebuild. and i've got some great ideas for interior improvements (having lived in the van for almost two years, i'm quite savvy on the ups and downs of the space and cabinetry provided). i just wanted to thank the list for all the help i have gotten from it in the past...and to thank ahead of time for the help i'm sure i will be asking for in the future of this project. if there's anyone out there from central massachusetts and has rebuilt one of these 1.9 liters before, i sure could use some advice. i've got the engine out, and most of the parts needed, now i just need a small lecture on timing before i go taking everything apart.

thanks again everyone...you'll be hearing from me soon, i'm sure

Mike Williams
