Even if you have the vents you still run into the "air compression" thing closing the last door. I think the vents must have either a springy valve flap thing or maybe a small-cell foam "filter", 'cause they don't let air out fast enough to keep the door from "bouncing" if you don't shut it hard enough. I think this is just the way the Type 2's were made. My mother rode in my Vanagon for the first time recently and had to try twice to get the passenger door shut. She commented that the 1968 Bus she bought new was exactly the same. I think it's just the way those Germans made 'em.
