Subject: Re: why does everyone treat the list vendors as "BAD GUYS"???

My vanagon ownnership experience started in 1999. I very quickly got the number of Ken Wilford and Vanagain. Between well priced parts and free technical/mechanical advice, Ken helped me keep/maintain/upgrade my Westy through almost every state and most of Canada. I have now had the priveledge of visiting his business a couple of times. He is an honest guy. I also dropped off/picked up a transmission at Darryls at AA transaxle with extremely positive results. Gowesty has for the last couple of years been my a huge help, both technically and in parts/advice. Smallcar the same for my Subaru conversions. Many of these vendors are 1 man operations. A few are not. I like to patronize the vendors who have helped me out, which so far is all of them. I still call Ken first, but I also buy a lot from Gowesty. Many of the vendors are huge Vanagon enthusiasts and a walking library of knowledge. But they are small operations. They spend their time and money bringing us parts and upgrades and add info to this list to help us all keep these rolling speedbumps on the road. In my past life our motto was "cooperate to graduate". I don't think I have bought anything from Ron at Busdepot, but I am local to him now so I probably will. Thanks Ron for all the tech advice on the list and I look forward to doing business with you.
