I like Joy's idea for a Vanagon List Campout in Oklahoma in early May because I have a tentative plan to attend & participate at the "Circle Yer Wagens" Campout & Show in Sevierville, TN (Sevierville County Fairgrounds) on May 6, 7, 8, put on by the Applachian VW group (held twice a year). It's aimed mainly at the Type 2 Vanagon crowd, but is heavily attended by all VW model owners. I had a great time at this event, lotsa friendly VW people ala "Buses By The Bridge". I have a two week vacation blocked for this, but can possibly expand it a few extra days to accomodate.

Since I would be driving all that way from Southern Calif, it would be nice to be able to attend an Oklahoma area event either on the way to or from TN.

I believe Bill Keating (81 Westy) from Stillwater, OK is still on the Vanagon List - Bill you out there? I met up with Bill and stayed at his place in March 1999 when I was on my 8 month "Gypsy Tour" back then. Wonderful guy to know and an outstanding host. -- Jim Thompson 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com ********************************** On 1/28/06, Joy Hecht <jhecht@alum.mit.edu> wrote: > > Hey, Maggie (et al), > > According to my current hypothetical schedule, I'm going to be driving > through Olkahoma from Dallas in early May, hopefully en route to Buses by > the Beach in Michigan at the end of May and Bus Fusion in Ottawa after > that.
