Jeff, Forgive my parochial vernacular...."right" in this context comes from the English and roughly translates as "an absolute..." or I guess, "very much a..." I think you have a handle on the dick part....( also no pun intended ;-) Cheers, Steve O....who doesn't get down under all that often either ;-) NSW, Australia '92 Transporter WBX Kombi '00 Transporter Double Cab '03 Transporter Double Cab (work truck) '78 Land Rover 109 Series 3 soft top ute (ex-Aust.Army) ________________________________ From: Oxroad@aol.com [mailto:Oxroad@aol.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 31, 2006 2:24 PM To: Stephen Overmyer Cc: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Subject: Re: Metric this, metric that

What is the heck does "right dick" mean? That kicks a**, and I'm not even sure I get it. Does "right" in this case mean "very" or is it a reference to "right" vs. "left" or neither. I think I know what the other part means. Forgive me but I don't get down under all that often (and that's not a pun). On the metric discussion, my Grandad used to say they told him in grade school they'd have to learn the metric system quick or they would be lost as everything was gonna be metric in a matter of a few years. That was about in about 1912-- or 583 if we're talking in meters. Best, Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA |
