This thread has brought to me an interesting solution to a problem.

Even though I drive a GL, I camp in it a good bit. The power connection thing was a problem. As a result of this discussion, I am going to install an electical receptical horizontally in the kickboard under the rear seat, and run the connecting wire out under the back seat somewhere and have a pigtail with a male plug go through the engine compartment and it will be secured right at the service hatch right at the rear of the vehicle. If I can't find an existing hole through which to pass the power cord, then I will drill a suitable sized hole, protect the edge of the metal hole with a rubber grommet, and seal it with silicone.

When setting up for the night or whatever, all I need do is drop the service door open and plug in. Voila! internal 110 V electrical power. Should I decide to take a long a little generator - use the same plug.

Thanks everyone!

They are also great at Thanksgiving for drinks! I've thought of adding an interior 110V outlet in the van wiring it to a plug-in, either in the rear of the van, or just underneath the van. Anyone out there ever do similar? John86 Westy Weekender (no complaining about what I call my van!) >> >> > > > >
