Metric measurements don't just apply to fasteners and wrenches (for us
Vanagon owners) any more.

I'm in Maine and my house has metric shingles.  Recently, when the roof
received minor damage from a falling tree, I had to drive to Canada to
pick up a bundle of shingles so that the repair pieces would line up
with what's there.  (It wasn't a long drive, though)
