There's a guy here in LA who has, I believe, a Pontiac V6 in a Syncro. I think his name is Thomas and he's a member of one of the Syncro lists. I spoke with him once and he said the previous owner did the engine swap. There was some "heavy" modification done to the rear door and the metal below it is completely cut away as I recall to allow the engine to fit.

I think he said it ends up making the vehicle a little heavier than he'd like. All in all I'm not sure I understand the advantage of this particular swap.

But. Being in the US, would it not make better sense to put a V6 or a V8 of American origin in there? I am sure this subject has been hammered from day one, but I don't remember reading about it on the list. I have seen aluminum V6 out of a boat that looked beautiful and compact.
