NEVER re-torque a head bolt! Denis is right, it WILL disturb de DRY sealant! The suggested torque is around 40FT-PD (I think!I'm all mixed up between engines), i always put 3 to 5FT-PD more just in case those thread are a bit weak! I rarely see over stretch stud on wasser, but more often on Air-cooled engine.

40 may seem low but remember that you only have to seal those compression ring/gasket...
