Is that all the big they are?? 6800 BTU?? I always felt that at least 12,000 BTU's were needed at minimum.

I used to own an old airplane - a Cessna 195 - and it seated 5 people - two up front much like Vanagon captain seats, and three on a bench seat, in a total space about like a car. It had a 24,000 BTU heater under th back seat. it did the job, but even so, there were days in Alaska in winter when it ran continually to keep the cabin warm - which ws tiny compared to a Vanagon.

I owned a 68 Loaf for a few years. It had a Suburban motorhome heater monted on the floor behind the driver seat. Now that was a heater!!! Turn it on high and it would completely defrost and de-ice the van in rairly short order. Nice in the Alaska winters.

It is better than the space heater I had, just not the heat volume I had hoped for. Maybe I am being too critical (it is only 6800 btu afterall) > > This weekend I am camping on the coast so it will be the real test. > > More to follow >Brian > > > >
