Both of my Vanagons - one an 85 GL w/1.9L WBX, the other- and current
van - an 88 GL w/2.1L WBX - overheated only once each. Both events were
the result of a stuck thermostat. That would be where to look first.


Pull the thermostat and run the vehicle witout it for a bit. If no
overheat, then that is your problem.
