So, I've just arrived in Blantyre, Malawi (that's in southern Africa, for the geography-challenged), after an endless 48 hours of flights. The taxi pulls into the parking lot of my hotel, and there, in their full glory, are the two hotel vehicles - two nice air-cooled vanagons, happily hanging out waiting to take people around town.

Matilda isn't here to talk with them (she's at Karl Wolz's in Phoenix, where this time I unpacked all my stuff so no one will want to break in - thank you, Karl!), but it does make Blantyre feel a bit like home, having vanagons outside!

Joy
