Part of what I was thinking about in terms of the rotating idea was that the average person is only going to make so many trips like this in their life, or even while their children are with them, if you want to look at it that way; if an event is in one place then they experience that one place and whatever is on the way or whatever they can get to during the trip. If they have a reason to move around it presents other opportunities. There are pros and cons to each idea of course, but if it comes down to one place every time, then it's always going to be a long and expensive trip for the same people, and you are therefore not likely to see them there much, if at all. For that matter the people that don't live in North America are kind of SOL for this thing altogether- maybe they could fly in and borrow vans from you multiple van owners and get to go that way. : ) I wonder that the people that go to Sturgis (or any other long 'pilgrimage') every year don't have to basically plan their lives around that trip to some extent.
