You guys are paranoid. Most likely he has a kid in school. And do you know how rare a syncro with an SVX motor is, and put together by a professional mechanic. You can't drive down to your local used car lot and find one-- ever. You pretty much have to do a national search if that is what you want. Also you can do the math. Buy a nice late model syncro that has been well maintained, spend maybe $8-10K. Or a crappy one for $5K and spend 4K getting it back up to par. Then take it somewhere and have them put in an SVX engine, add $10K. He just has to find the right buyer. Someone might want convert to a camper and have a pretty nice 4wd powerhouse camper.
